Samsung launches a collegiate Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament

Samsung has a significant presence in the esports arena and the company often teams up with developers to launch gaming tournaments. It has struck a similar partnership with developer MOONTON Games to launch a collegiate-level Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament.

This competition, titled Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Campus Series, starts next month and involves local tournaments that will be held across Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Samsung to promote its Galaxy S25 Ultra through this tournament

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is becoming increasingly popular in this part of the world. This is one of several third-party tournaments that will be held in 2025.

The company mentions that this tournament has been created to provide a “gateway for student gamers to pursue their esports aspirations.” Samsung is using this tournament is a way to promote its latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It will provide students with the latest device to support the competition.

“We believe in providing the next generation of gamers with the best technology and opportunities to help reach their full potential,” said Carl Nordenberg, VP, Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia and Oceania. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the poster child for best technology, as it has ample power to provide a best-in-class mobile gaming experience.

This tournament is open to students based in the aforementioned countries aged 18 and over. The qualifiers will take place on April 25, 2025 and conclude on May 18. The finals for the four countries will then be held across the month of May. Teams will then compete in the regional finals for a chance to win a share of $40,000 in prize money.
