Here’s your first clue about Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch 8

Samsung tends to refresh its smartwatch lineup every year and we don't expect 2025 to be any different. The company launched the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra in the second half of last year, so we should see new models arrive in the coming months.

The first clue that Samsung does indeed have new models in the pipeline has now surfaced, effectively confirming that we'll be treated to new smartwatches, potentially alongside the new foldable smartphones that are due by July or August 2025.

New Galaxy Watch 8 may launch alongside upcoming foldable phones

As highlighted by @theonecid on X, firmware versions for the Galaxy Watch 8 have now appeared, and they give away the model numbers for the Bluetooth and LTE variants of the device. The Bluetooth variants of the Galaxy Watch 8 have model numbers SM-L320 and SM-L330 based on the firmware versions L320XXU0AYC4/L320OXM0AYC4.

The LTE variants of this smartwatch meant for the US have model numbers SM-L325U and SM-L335U, backed by firmware versions L325USQU0AYC6/L325UOYM0AYC. These are hardly surprising, as the current Galaxy Watch 7 has model numbers SM-L310 and SM-L315.

Samsung's model numbers follow a natural progress so this is as good a clue as any that the above mentioned numbers correspond to the new Galaxy Watch 8. No further information is available at this point in time about the specs and other details, but we'll certainly be hearing more about the devices in the coming months.

The company made some meaningful upgrades last time around, particularly with the upgraded health tracking sensor and new AI features for wellness tracking and sleep. Samsung will surely build upon the strongest elements of its smartwatch to provide us with yet another great product.
