Samsung has revealed the US release date for the Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A36. The two mid-range phones were officially announced on March 2, ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) exhibition in Barcelona, alongside the Galaxy A56.
Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A36 US release date set for late March
The Galaxy A36 will go on sale in the US on March 26 in Awesome Black and Awesome Lavender; a third colorway, Awesome Lime, will be exclusive to Best Buy. The phone will come with 128GB of storage, without the option for microSD expansion.
The Galaxy A26 will make its way stateside on March 28. US customers will get to pick up the phone in just one color: black. However, the A26 will come with 256GB of storage instead of 128GB and is equipped with a microSD slot for further expansion.
The pricing for these phones was revealed at the same time as the official announcement, and they are as follows:
- 256GB Galaxy A26: $299.99
- 128GB Galaxy A36: $399
Galaxy A26 and A36 specs and features
The Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A36 have a lot in common. Both have an IP67 water and dust resistant design, Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back, a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 5,000 mAh battery, a 50MP primary camera, and Android 15 and One UI 7 with ‘intelligent' functionality like an object eraser and a promise of six years of software updates.
The Galaxy A26 uses the Exynos 1380, the chip that powered the Galaxy A35 last year. A Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, which is around 8% faster than the Exynos 1380 in CPU performance, powers the A36.
The Galaxy A36 supports 45W super fast charging (the A26 tops out at 25W) and features a new 12MP front-facing camera with 10-bit HDR recording. Its display can reach 1200 nits of brightness, while the A26 display has a max brightness of 1000 nits.
The Galaxy A56 is coming to the US as well, but Samsung isn't telling us the release date just yet.
