Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy A53, one of its most popular mid-range smartphones. The update brings the March 2025 security patch and some stability improvements. The update is now available in Europe.
Galaxy A53 gets March 2025 security update
The new software update, which is rolling out to the Galaxy A53, comes bearing firmware version A536BXXSDEYB9. It brings the March 2025 security patch to the phone and fixes dozens of security flaws discovered in the previous software versions.
The official changelog mentions that there could be additional reliability and stability updates as a part of the March 2025 update. The update could be released in other regions soon.
If you have a Galaxy A53 and live in Europe, you can now check for the new update and install it on your phone. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware file from our database and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The phone was promised to get four major Android OS updates (up to Android 16). It received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023.
It will get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update in the next few months. Its last major update will be One UI 8.0, which will be based on Android 16.
