Nowadays, most people use streaming services to listen to music. As such, the development of apps that play audio stored locally has come to a standstill. However, if you are among the very few who store music locally and use a Samsung phone, there’s some good news for you.
Samsung is rolling out an update to the Samsung Music app for Galaxy smartphones. It carries version 16.2.40.5 and brings a feature that many people may appreciate. That new feature is the ability to set the transparency of the music widget for the home screen.

As pointed out by @Theordysm, in the latest version of the Samsung Music app, the widget for the home screen offers a setting called Transparency. It lets you set how opaque you want the widget to look, allowing you to customise its look even further.
Samsung hasn’t rolled out the new version of the Samsung Music app globally, as we haven’t received it on our Galaxy S23 or Galaxy S25 in India yet. Expect the brand to release it to everyone in the next few days. While you can download its APK from various websites, we recommend you refrain from doing that as it may be dangerous.
