Drawing Assist is one of the most fun One UI 7 AI-based tools for Galaxy device users wanting to explore their creative sides through digital drawing. Samsung massively upgraded the Drawing Assist feature in One UI 7 with multimodal capabilities, but up until recently, the tool was exclusive to the Galaxy S25 lineup.
Now, with the latest One UI 7 beta versions for the Galaxy S24 (beta 6) and the Galaxy Z Flip & Fold 6 (beta 2), the multimodal Drawing Assist tool is finally available to testers.
Samsung didn't mention the upgrade to Sketch to Image, a.k.a. Drawing Assist, in the latest changelog for the recent One UI 7 betas, but it's there. And its inclusion in the latest beta firmware signals that the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6 is inching closer to its global debut.
Drawing Assist is one of the most fun Generative AI tools
The upgraded Drawing Assist tool now puts more creative control in your hands. Same as before, Galaxy device users can use the S Pen (if supported) or their fingertips to create rough sketches and turn them into high-quality AI renders in just a few screen taps.
But beyond this now-basic functionality, Drawing Assist in One UI 7 supports voice and text commands. This lets you specify more parameters for your drawings, such as a location or a weather type or background. Furthermore, the upgraded Drawing Assist comes with one extra drawing style called Ink and Wash.
There's a lot more to it, and you should check out the full-fledged Drawing Assist tool in One UI 7 running on the Galaxy S25 in our hands-on video below.
As for the stable One UI 7 release, Samsung is aiming for an April 7 launch in some markets and April 10/14 in others. These dates may be subject to change, but the Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 should get stable One UI 7 next month.
