There's a lot to be excited about with the Galaxy S25 Edge, but Samsung continues to keep its cards close to its chest, and the company hasn't revealed a lot of information about the device. In the absence of official information, there have been all sorts of rumors, some exciting while others a bit too disappointing.
One such rumor about the Galaxy S25 Edge's display claimed that the panel would have a FHD+ resolution. However, latest information has emerged suggesting that the Galaxy S25 Edge will have a 2K or 1440 x 3120 pixel resolution panel instead.
Galaxy S25 Edge expected to hit the market at some point next month
The FHD+ rumor seemed plausible because this is an incredibly thin device with a 3,900mAh battery. A lower power draw would be required for the FHD+ panel and that would contribute to enhancing the battery life. It seems, though, this is something Samsung isn't too worried about.
That's despite the fact that the device is said to feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as well as a 120Hz refresh rate for the 6.7-inch display. Samsung may have enough confidence in the device's ability to provide all-day battery life that it decided to give users a 1440p panel, even though in theory, it's quite difficult for the average user to tell any meaningful difference in the resolution between 1080p and 1440p.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge next month. There may not be a launch event as the company opts for a quieter launch through a press release. It's already got the required FCC certification so the release shouldn't be too far off now.
