First One UI 9 test build for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 has just been spotted

First One UI 9 test build for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 has just been spotted

All eyes are on Samsung's upcoming launch of the Galaxy S26 series later this month, but fans of the foldable lineup will be more interested in what the company launches in the second half of this year.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be one of the foldables that gets unveiled then, and it appears that Samsung has already begun One UI 9 firmware development for the device.

Galaxy Z Flip 8 likely to run One UI 9 and Android 17 out of the box

As highlighted by @tarunvats33 on X, firmware version F776USQU0AZB1 has been spotted, which is likely a One UI 9 test build for the Galaxy Z Flip 8. For those keeping count of the model numbers, SM-F776 is reportedly the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Not much is known about the Galaxy Z Flip 8 at this point in time, though early rumors have suggested that the clamshell foldable would be powered by the Exynos 2600 chipset. This would surprise no one, as the Galaxy Z Flip 7 proudly boasts the Exynos 2500.

It would also hardly be surprising if this firmware that's been spotted is a One UI 9 build, as the Galaxy Z Flip 7 did come out with the latest One UI and Android iteration last year, One UI 8 and Android 16.

If Samsung keeps up with that trend, we can reasonably expect the Galaxy Z Flip 8 to be launched with One UI 9 and Android 17. This would obviously be the case for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 as well. Expect more indications to surface in the coming months.
