I’m glad Samsung proved us wrong with the Galaxy A56 for USA

Sometimes, it's good to be proven wrong by Samsung, and I'm glad it happened recently regarding the Galaxy A56.

As some readers might recall, at the beginning of January, we had very little hope that Samsung would bring the Galaxy A56 to the USA. We were betting more on the Galaxy A56 following a similar path as the A55 and skipping the US market entirely.

At that time, we saw no evidence of the phone's development for the USA and no trace of US-based firmware for the Galaxy A56.

In fact, we still don't see any proof that Samsung is developing firmware for the unlocked or carrier-bound Galaxy A56 variants.

Nevertheless, despite the A56 seemingly missing in action to this day, Samsung did confirm this weekend that the Galaxy A56 will come to the USA.

When? Samsung didn't say, but the company put a price tag on the device. According to the company, the Galaxy A56 will hit the US market for $499.

The lack of firmware development at this time could mean that the Galaxy A56 might go on sale in the USA later than other markets. Or it might not. Things could change at any moment, and signs of firmware development could show up any minute.

For now, we can only say that Samsung intends to bring the Galaxy A56 to US customers. When? We don't know. Regardless, we hope the company won't change its mind and will indeed exceed our initial expectations sooner rather than later.

My final take on this? These events should be a reminder that firmware development status doesn't tell the whole story. And it's not too bad to be proven wrong when the right answer leads to a better customer experience. Samsung should do that more often.
