Two One UI 7 features that your Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 won’t get

Samsung finally confirmed the official One UI 7 launch date today. The much-awaited update is going to be released for several compatible devices on April 7, 2025. Other eligible devices, including the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will begin receiving the update in the following weeks.

The new Samsung software update brings a whole range of new features and improvements. However, some of them won't be available on all devices, such as these two specific features that owners of the aforementioned foldable phones won't get.

Get a newer model for the best One UI 7 experience

One UI 7 brings a natural language-based search engine to the Settings app. This makes it super easy to adjust settings without having to sort through endless menus. For example, simply saying “My eyes are feeling tired” will bring up the options to turn on Eye comfort shield or adjust the brightness. Sadly, this feature won't be available on One UI 7 for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Audio Eraser is genuinely one of the most useful features of One UI 7. It can analyze up to six different types of background noise in videos, such as background chatter or high winds, helping you either decrease their volume or mute them completely. This Galaxy AI feature will be missing from One UI 7 on these devices as well.

It's not all doom and gloom, though. These foldables still get the brand new visual identity that One UI 7 brings, including the Now Bar, widgets, new icons, color schemes, buttery smooth animations and more. Many Galaxy AI features are also supported, including AI Select, Writing Assist and Drawing Assist.

That's all well and good but if you want the complete One UI 7 experience, upgrade to one of the newer models to avoid FOMO.
