Galaxy S21 FE gets March 2025 security update ahead of One UI 7

Yesterday, Samsung announced that it will start rolling out the stable version of Android 15-based One UI 7.0 to Galaxy smartphones and tablets on 7 April 2025. One of the devices eligible for it is the Galaxy S21 FE. Well, with more than fifteen days to go for it, the South Korean tech giant is rolling out the March 2025 security patch for the smartphone.

The March 2025 security patch fixes a total of 58 security issues. Currently, Samsung is rolling it out to the international variant of the Galaxy S21 FE with the Snapdragon chipset, which has the model number SM-G990B2. The update carries firmware version G990B2ODMBGYC1. At the moment it is live in many countries across Asia and Europe.

To get the latest update on your Galaxy S21 FE, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. We have made the firmware available in our database as well. You can get it from here and then use a Windows PC with Odin to install it. Before you take the second route, we recommend you backup your data.

As for One UI 7.0, Samsung will initially roll it out to new and high-end devices and then to more affordable and older devices. We expect the company to release it for your device by the end of the next month. But we can’t say anything for sure considering that Samsung has delayed One UI 7 many times and by a lot.
