Samsung is rolling out software updates to two of its Galaxy A-series smartphones from 2023, the Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy A13 5G. It offers the February 2025 security patch. It fixes a bunch of security vulnerabilities that you can check out here.
Currently, the two phones are on a quarterly update schedule, which means that this is the first of the four security updates they will get this year.
At the moment, the update is available to the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy A13 for the United States and the European variant of the Galaxy A13 5G. The update for the former carries version A135USQSBEYA1 and that for the latter carries version A136BXXSADYB1.
Samsung smartphones and tablets keep checking for software updates periodically and automatically. If an update is available, the devices will notify users. However, it could be a while before your Galaxy A13 checks for updates automatically.
To get the update quickly, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the firmware from our database or any other trusted source and install it using the Odin software on a Windows PC.
While we are on the topic of updates, the Galaxy A13 and the Galaxy A13 5G, unfortunately, aren’t eligible for Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7.0. Newer entry-level Galaxy smartphones are now offering up to four OS upgrades.
