Galaxy Z Flip 4 gets February 2025 security update

Yesterday, we reported that Samsung has released the February 2025 security patch to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which fixes a lot of security issues. Well, the company is now rolling out the update to its sibling, the Galaxy Z Flip 4.

For now, the update is available only for the carrier-locked variant of the smartphone for the United States, which has the model number SM-F721U. The update changes its firmware version to F721USQS7GYA5. It is live for devices on at least three network carriers: DISH, MetroPCS, and T-Mobile. Samsung should offer it to other variants of the smartphone soon.

If you have a carrier-locked Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the US, your phone might have sent you a notification about the update. Just click on that and select Download and install to get the update. However, if you don’t see the notification, head to Settings » Software update » Download and install to get the latest firmware. You can also get it from our firmware section.

One UI 7.0 for Galaxy Z Flip 4

Speaking of updates, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is eligible to get Samsung's Android 15-based One UI 7.0. The company should have rolled it out by now but it hasn’t and the brand is under a lot of fire for it. Samsung has still not provided a timeframe for when it will release the update.
