Samsung’s next 2-in-1 Galaxy Book laptop will only get minor improvements

Although Samsung introduced the Galaxy Book 4 series just nine months ago, the company may be gearing up to launch its next-generation laptops. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 will be one of those upcoming laptops, and its design and specifications have leaked.

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 won't be much of an upgrade over its predecessor, the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360.

The images and specifications of the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 have been leaked by Windows Report. The upcoming high-end 2-in-1 laptop from Samsung will look exactly like the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360, featuring a simple, flat lid and a wedge-shaped front when the lid is closed. It sports a 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x touchscreen with WQXGA+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its 360-degree hinge allows it to be converted into a tablet and used with the bundled S Pen stylus.

It will come equipped with the upcoming Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor from the Lunar Lake lineup. The laptop will have at least 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Whether it has additional RAM and SSD slots remains to be seen. It will run Windows 11 with Copilot Plus (and a dedicated key for it).

It has a full-sized backlit keyboard with a numpad, a gigantic trackpad (with Windows Precision drivers), and a fingerprint reader. Its non-360 version might lack the numpad and have a centered trackpad. It has a webcam and bottom-firing stereo speakers. According to the report, Samsung's upcoming laptop gets upgraded wireless connectivity with Bluetooth 5,4 and Wi-Fi 7.

The story continues after our Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 video below.

The laptop has an HDMI 2.1 port and two Thunderbolt 4 ports on the left. On the right, it has a USB 3.2 Type-A port, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 is reportedly powered by a 76Wh battery and supports 65W USB PD charging via the Thunderbolt 4 port (USB Type-C connector).

Samsung has also equipped the device with an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, and a gyroscope. The laptop is said to measure 13.99×9.93×0.5 inches and weighs 1.69kg. So, the only improvements that the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 will be the newer Intel chip, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 7.

Expected models in Galaxy Book 5 laptop lineup

We don't know when Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Book 5 series yet, but we can expect the upcoming laptop generation to feature at least five models:

  • Galaxy Book 5
  • Galaxy Book 5 360
  • Galaxy Book 5 Pro
  • Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360
  • Galaxy Book 5 Ultra

We can expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Book 5 series sometime in November or December of this year. The laptops can then go on sale in most markets in the first quarter of next year.
