Survivors of the devastating Los Angeles metropolitan area wildfires last year still have a long road ahead of them to rebuild their lives.
Samsung is lending a helping hand through its partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. Samsung Employees and Care experts helped some of them rebuild, reconnect, and return to the routines of life before the disaster.
Samsung previously announced a $1 million product donation
Yesterday, Samsung Electronics America employees and members of its Care team joined the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles for its ReBUILD LA Community Build event in the Pacific Palisades and Malibu. More than 200 volunteers, wildfire survivors, local residents, and community partners took part in this event.
Theodore Ang, a homeowner in the Pacific Palisades, saw significant smoke and fire damages to his appliances which were rendered unusable. Through its partnership with Habitat LA, the company provided Theodore with new Samsung appliances and electronics, such as a Bespoke AI refrigerator, washer, dryer, OLED 4K TVs, and even a Galaxy Z Fold 8. Samsung Care experts provided help with installation, set up and registration of the new products.
This is just a small part of Samsung's efforts to help those who lived through the disaster. It previously announced a $1 million product donation in February 2025 to support the wildfire relief efforts through Habitat LA, Team Rubicon, and the Los Angeles Unified School District Foundation.
