Samsung's set to launch its new flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, later this year. The battery capacities for the two new tablets has been revealed in a new report, and it brings good news for those who've been wishing for a beefier battery on the largest model.
The company last bumped up the capacity to 11,200mAh on the top-of-the-line model three years ago. It has now emerged that the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra will have a bigger battery than its predecessor.
Only the base and Ultra models to arrive in 2025
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra in 2022 with a 11,200mAh battery. The two successors that have since been launched have retained that same battery capacity. That's set to change with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
GalaxyClub has found that the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra's EB-BX936ABY battery has a rated capacity of 11,374mAh. That's a 500mAh jump over the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra's battery with its rated capacity of 10,800mAh. Since the outgoing model's capacity is typically advertised as 11,200mAh, it's likely that the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra's advertised capacity could be 11,700 or even 12,000mAh.
Samsung isn't being this generous with the base Galaxy Tab S11. Its EB-BX736ABY battery has a rated capacity of 8,160mAh, which is the same as that of the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, that had an advertised capacity of 8,400mAh.
You may recall that last year's flagship tablet lineup didn't have a base model as Samsung only launched the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra. This time around, it's going to be the base model and the Ultra only. Both are expected to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset. No word as yet on when they may be released, but Samsung typically launches new tablets by August or September.
