Galaxy S25 Edge clears one of its last big hurdles before official release

Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 Edge alongside the Galaxy S25 series back in January. The company only let the media see the device from afar at the event as nobody was allowed to touch it. We saw a repeat of that at MWC 2025 where the device was displayed but once again, a hands-on experience was off the table.

This has only just led to greater anticipation for the device's release. It's one of Samsung's thinnest smartphones yet and with almost flagship-level performance, it's shaping up to be a beast. Thankfully, it has now cleared one of its final hurdles before hitting the market.

Things are looking good for the Galaxy S25 Edge's release

The Galaxy S25 Edge has received its FCC certification. The listing mentions the model numbers SM-S937U, SM-S937U1, and SM-S937B/DS, all of which are associated with the different variants of the Galaxy S25 Edge.

While the certification doesn't reveal much about the specs, rumors have suggested that the Galaxy S25 Edge will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 12GB of RAM. It may also have a 3,900mAh battery. Other specs include a ceramic build, 6.65-inch display, 25W fast charging, and a 200-megapixel primary sensor which is the same as this year's Ultra model.

The biggest selling point of this device is undoubtedly its thin profile. Rumor has it that the device measures only 5.84mm thin. We saw a leak yesterday that compared a unit with the Galaxy S25 Ultra just to really drive the point home that this is an incredibly thin device by today's standards.

Samsung hasn't officially confirmed when the device is going to be released but it's expected that we'll see the Galaxy S25 Edge hit the market in the coming weeks.
