TM Roh will soon hold “town hall meeting” over the future of mobile

TM Roh, President of the Samsung Mobile eXperience (MX) Division, is preparing to hold the next quarterly “town hall meeting” with employees. Local media outlets say some of the main topics the President will discuss are the competitiveness of Galaxy phones, how Samsung should lead the market, and how it should avoid past mistakes.

Industry sources say TM Roh, along with other executives, will host the next so-called town hall meeting with employees on October 23 to explore the future of mobile. The location will be the Samsung Electronics building in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.

Discussing the future of Galaxy phones and Galaxy AI

At the upcoming quarterly meeting, TM Roh will get together with Mobile eXperience executives and employees. The leadership is expected to analyze various facets of the mobile business, including:

  • The market performance of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
  • The future vision of Galaxy AI.
  • Strategies to strengthen Samsung's position in the smartphone market.
  • Explore how the upcoming Galaxy S25 series can secure Samsung's dominance.
  • Look for ways to ensure Samsung Mobile eXperience can avoid repeating problems that occurred in previous Galaxy releases.

2024 has been a surprising year for Galaxy fans, so there will likely be a lot to talk about. TM Roh is also expected to share a message of encouragement for employees.

Samsung's mobile division started the year with a strong push into the AI era, and many other unexpected things have happened over the course of three quarters.

Samsung unveiled and released its first Galaxy Ring. It redesigned its flagship smartwatch and wireless earbuds lineup. The company also restructured its premium tablet series and, for the first time, used a MediaTek chip for its high-end Galaxy slates.

Next, Samsung might release a Special Edition Galaxy Fold in select markets. And for the remainder of the year, Samsung says it will work hard on perfecting the upcoming massive One UI 7.0 update for what hopefully will be a flawless release in early 2025.

Market watchers (via ETNews) say mobile sales in Q3 may have increased by 3.3% year-on-year, and operating profits for Samsung's MX and Networks divisions should have reached roughly 2.6 trillion won ($1,92 billion) over the three-month period.
