We feel like we're beginning to sound like a broken record, but there's no doubt that One UI 7.0 is going to be one massive update for Galaxy devices. It's so massive that for the first time since One UI's debut back in 2018, Samsung will not be launching the latest One UI version in the same year as the new version of Android it's based on.
While One UI 7.0 beta testing will go live for the public sometime this year, Samsung revealed back at its developer conference that the stable One UI 7.0 update will be released with the Galaxy S25 series. Since the official reveal, the pace of development on the new software has picked up steam.
Latest iteration of One UI 7 Gallery app icon loses the excessive color
As we reported earlier this week, Samsung is working so fast that our One UI 7.0 hands-on video from the developer conference already has many outdated elements.
We were told that icons for stock Samsung apps are among the elements that have changed recently, and now, we're getting visual confirmation of the same thanks to a short video showing an updated version of the icon for the Gallery app that comes preloaded on Galaxy devices.
Almost all stock apps are expected to get refreshed icons, but some of the new icons weren't received positively by fans. For instance, the original version of One UI 7.0's Gallery app icon looked a bit too colorful.
However, Samsung has clearly toned things down a bit, and the new icon looks a lot better. We don't know if this is the final version, but if it is, we think that most users will love it at best, and at worst find it inoffensive.
We will have more One UI 7.0 coverage on SamMobile in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back regularly. For One UI 7.0 video content, check out and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
