We have already seen specifications and design of Samsung’s upcoming flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. Now, we have information on their prices as well, and it isn't very pleasant.
A new leak reveals prices of all the variants of the Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra for Switzerland, as you can see in the image below. According to the leak, the Galaxy Tab S10+ starts at CHF 1,179 ($1,390) and goes up to CHF 1,439 ($1,697), whereas, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra starts at CHF 1,399 ($1,650) and goes up to CHF 1,979 ($ 2,334).
In comparison, Samsung launched the same Galaxy Tab S9+ in the country at CHF 1,029 and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra for CHF 1,229 for the same connectivity and storage options. So, the new tablets will be at CHF 150 ($176) to CHF 170 ($200) costlier than their predecessors. That’s a significant jump in price which will push people towards Apple’s iPad Pro.
There’s no information as to why Samsung is planning to launch the upcoming tablets at a higher price than their predecessor. Inflation in component prices shouldn’t account to such a significant increase in price. Plus, Samsung is using MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ for the Tab S10+ and the Tab S10 Ultra, and chipsets from MediaTek are considered to be cheaper than those from Qualcomm. Hopefully, we will get to know more as the launch nears.
