Galaxy S25 battery capacity leaked, no improvements in sight

In July, we got to know that Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, will have a 5,000mAh battery, the same as its predecessor. Earlier today, a report claimed that the Galaxy S25+ will have a 4,900mAh battery, once again, the same as last year’s model. Now, a popular tipster has shed light on the battery capacity of the base variant in the lineup, the Galaxy S25, and the news is not exciting.

According to @UniverseIce on X, the Galaxy S25 will have a 4,000mAh battery, the same as its predecessor, the Galaxy S24.

That means unless the Galaxy S25’s display, processor, or modem are not more efficient than the Galaxy S24’s, you should get a similar battery life on the upcoming model as the current one. That’s not a bad thing because Galaxy S24 offers good battery backup for its size, lasting a whole day on a single charge on moderate usage. Apple’s iPhone 15, which has a size similar to that of the Galaxy S24, also offers a similar battery backup.

The story continues after the video…

What’s surprising is that Samsung is managing to pack a battery of the same size despite reducing the thickness of the device by 1mm, making it one of the thinnest flagship phones. Speaking of which, earlier today, we also learned that the thickness of Galaxy S25’s camera rings is just 1.8mm. In comparison, the camera ring thickness of Galaxy S25 Ultra will be 2.4mm and that of the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max is 4.3mm.

What about other specs?

So far, leaks have revealed details about Galaxy S25’s design, display, camera, processor, and battery capacity. However, there’s still no confirmation if Samsung will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or the Exynos 2500 for the non-Ultra models. That, the price of the phone, and the launch date are all we need to know. Follow us on Telegram or WhatsApp to the latest Samsung updates.
