Running and cycling enthusiasts love Strava because it consolidates workout data from virtually every platform into one place and has a vibrant community. Recently, users have run into syncing issues across smartwatches from multiple major brands, including Samsung's Galaxy Watch lineup.
Galaxy Watches unable to sync workouts to Strava
A new bug appears to be preventing smartwatches from automatically syncing workout data to the Strava platform. The issue impacts wearables from Apple, Garmin, and Samsung alike. While Garmin users account for the majority of complaints, that may simply reflect the platform's user base, as dedicated fitness enthusiasts often prefer Strava to Garmin's built-in tools.
Frustrated users have attempted standard troubleshooting steps, such as signing in and out of their Samsung Health and Strava accounts or disconnecting and reconnecting Health Connect, but none of these workarounds resolve the problem.
Following complaints, Strava acknowledged the issues, describing them as “isolated and disconnected from one another.” The company attributed the glitches to the complexities involved in integrating with multiple third-party operating systems and health platforms.
While Strava is likely working on a solution, the company has not provided an official timeline for when users can expect a fix. So, things might not improve very soon.
