Samsung One UI 9.5: Everything you need to know

One UI 9.5 will be Samsung's second One UI version based on Android 17 and is expected to be released in early 2027 alongside the Galaxy S27 series. Since One UI 9.0 did not bring major design improvements or many new features, One UI 9.5 could introduce more substantial design changes and several new features.

Let us look at the features One UI 9.5 could bring, when it could be released, and which devices may be eligible for the update.

One UI 9.5 design

One UI 9.5 could introduce more substantial UI and UX improvements, including more semi-transparent interface elements such as cards and floating bars. Samsung already brought a pill-shaped floating tab bar to its stock One UI apps with One UI 9.0, and it could receive a more transparent look with One UI 9.5.

Samsung's stock apps could also get layouts that adapt better to large-screen devices, including foldable phones and tablets.

One UI 9.5 features

One UI 9.5 could bring more advanced features to Samsung's stock apps, including Calendar, Camera, Clock, My Files, Gallery, Samsung Health, Modes and Routines, Samsung Notes, Phone, Reminder, Samsung Internet, Samsung TV Plus, SmartThings, Samsung Wallet, and Galaxy Wearable. These apps could gain deeper integration with Galaxy AI and Gemini.

It could also introduce more advanced automation features with the help of Bixby and Gemini Intelligence. Support for more capable AI agents and improved activity tracking could be added as well. We will likely start hearing more about its features toward the end of 2026.

One UI 9.5 release

Based on Samsung's track record over the past few years, the company could open the One UI 9.5 Beta Program for select high-end devices in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2026. It could then release five or six beta versions before debuting the stable version with the Galaxy S27 series in the first quarter (Q1) of 2027.

Older eligible Galaxy phones and tablets could start receiving the stable One UI 9.5 update in Q1 2027, with the rollout potentially completing in Q2 2027.

One UI 9.5 compatible devices

Samsung typically offers at least three major Android OS upgrades for older entry-level devices. Recent entry-level and mid-range Galaxy phones and tablets are eligible for major Android OS and One UI upgrades for up to six years from launch, while most recent high-end phones are eligible for up to seven major Android updates.
