The Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are Samsung's latest smartwatches. They bring more comfortable designs, faster performance, more advanced health and fitness tracking features, and longer battery life.
They also make a major step forward in wireless connectivity with newer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi versions.
Newer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi versions and more accurate GPS
They use Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, which is built on a 3nm process. In addition to offering faster CPU and GPU performance than the Exynos W1000 chip used in the Galaxy Watch 8 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, the chipset supports Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 6 on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, NFC, and dual-band GPS (L1 and L5).
Bluetooth 6.0's Channel Sounding feature can enable devices to determine location with centimeter-level accuracy, which could help users find a lost or misplaced device with more accuracy. It should also improve connection reliability in areas with heavy wireless signal interference.

Wi-Fi 6 (2.4GHz and 5GHz) is a major upgrade over the Wi-Fi 4 connectivity available on previous Galaxy Watches. It offers better range, improved connection stability, faster download speeds, and better battery efficiency.
The Snapdragon Wear Elite also promises substantially better GPS accuracy and faster location lock. It should improve tracking accuracy during outdoor workouts, including cycling, running, walking, and trail runs. Navigation in Google Maps should also be better than on previous Galaxy Watches.

No 5G connectivity, though
Although the new processor also features 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) connectivity, Samsung has decided not to offer 5G connectivity on cellular variants of its new smartwatches. The Galaxy Watch 9's cellular version and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are limited to LTE connectivity.
