First details of the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s rear camera design emerge

First details of the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s rear camera design emerge

We are still at least six months away from the possible launch of the Galaxy S27 series, but information about its specifications has already begun to emerge. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to feature just three rear cameras, and the first details about its rear design have now surfaced.

According to trusted tipster Lanzuk, the current fan-made renders of the Galaxy S27 Ultra, which depict a simple horizontal triple-camera layout, do not reflect the phone's actual design. The tipster claims that Samsung's move from the Galaxy S26 Ultra's quad-camera setup to a triple-camera setup does not necessarily mean the company will adopt a fundamentally different camera layout.

The tipster also states that Samsung's engineering and design teams are working on various prototypes to find a layout that makes sense while reducing manufacturing costs. If the new design prototypes are not viable (too expensive or impractical), Samsung's engineers could fall back on the Galaxy S26 Ultra's overall rear camera layout.

Samsung's internal design teams have reportedly narrowed down their final design options, and credible design leaks could emerge once the CAD files are finalized.

The Galaxy S27 Ultra is reportedly equipped with a 200MP primary camera featuring a newer sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. On the front, it is expected to feature a 16MP camera, possibly with a square sensor format.
