Samsung has made it official: its Galaxy devices appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next Spider-Man film, due in theaters on July 31. Fans caught a few glimpses in the first trailer, and now Samsung is now confirming the full extent of its role.
The phones aren't background props. Peter Parker (Tom Holland) carries a Galaxy Z Flip 7, while his best friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), the “guy in the chair” who runs tech support for the titular hero, uses a Galaxy Z Fold 7 and a Galaxy Watch.
It makes sense: a compact Flip 7 suits a superhero swinging across the city, and the larger Fold 7 fits the character coordinating everything from behind a screen.
The Spidey Tracker brings the movie into the real world
The partnership extends beyond the movie. Samsung and Sony Pictures are launching the Spidey Tracker, a fan-powered website that pulls a plot point straight out of the film where Ned builds a custom site to locate Spider-Man.
The real version is powered by Samsung Galaxy and launches in 35 countries. The campaign will include cast appearances and interviews, live activations, content drops, and hidden easter eggs at live events, venues, popular creator videos, and Samsung Experience Stores. Fans can follow sightings in real time and submit their own.
Samsung is teasing the Spidey Tracker today, and it opens to everyone on Wednesday, June 17 at 3 p.m. ET at SpideyTracker.com, coinciding with the second trailer's release. There's also an X account, @SpideyTracker, for sightings and updates.

A tie-in like this is a smart bet for Samsung. The first Brand New Day trailer pulled 718.6 million views in its first 24 hours, the biggest trailer launch ever for any movie or game; it's also reportedly the first movie trailer ever to cross a billion views. That puts the Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 in front of a huge audience just a few weeks ahead of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 launch.
Brand New Day is a big stage for Samsung's Galaxy
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to be the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe film between 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. In the previous film, Tom Holland's Spider-Man teamed up with his alternate-universe counterparts, played by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, and went up against popular villains from the pre-MCU Spider-Man films.
This time around, Brand New Day is rumored to feature a showdown between Spider-Man and Bruce Banner's Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Jon Bernthal is also confirmed as the Punisher. And for the first time since the Tobey Maguire trilogy, a live-action Spider-Man film will give its lead organic webbing instead of mechanical web-shooters.
Sadie Sink (of Stranger Things fame) is in the cast as well, and while Marvel hasn't confirmed her role, the leading rumor has her playing X-Men hero Jean Grey, which would mark the character's MCU debut.
Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the MCU.
