One UI 9.0 for Galaxy S24 is now one step closer to release

One UI 9.0 for Galaxy S24 is now one step closer to release

Last month, Samsung unveiled its latest Android customisation for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, One UI 9.0. Back then, the brand released its beta version, but only for the Galaxy S26 series. That being said, the company has started developing it for other devices, as well, including the Galaxy S25 lineup. Now, it looks like the tech giant is working on the new software for the Galaxy S24 devices as well.

A firmware for the Galaxy S24 featuring One UI 9.0 has been spotted on Samsung’s server for the first time (via Galaxy Alerts). It suggests that the brand has started developing its new Android customisation for its flagship non-foldable smartphones from 2024. The firmware for the base, Plus, and Ultra models carries versions S921BXXUFEZF7, S926BXXUFEZF7, and S928BXXUFEZF7, respectively.

While One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 QPR2, One UI 9.0 is based on Android 17. Along with the upgrades that the new version of the OS offers, Samsung has packed the new software with more user interface customisation options and new features.

Samsung is expected to debut the stable version of One UI 9.0 with the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 next month. Soon after that, the brand may start rolling it out to eligible devices. In the meantime, the company could release its beta version for new and high-end models.
