A few days ago, Samsung released a software update for the Galaxy Watch 8 and the Galaxy Watch 7 that offered the May 2026 security patch. It addresses 36 issues present in the previous firmware, making these smartwatches more secure than before.
Now, the brand is offering the latest security patch to all the wearables still eligible for security updates: Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch 6, Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, Galaxy Watch 4, and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.
At the moment, Samsung seems to be offering these updates only to their non-cellular (Wi-Fi only) variants in its home country, South Korea. Below are their firmware versions:
- Galaxy Watch FE – R861XXS2CZE1
- Galaxy Watch 6 – R930TBS2CZE1
- Galaxy Watch 6 Classic – R960XXS2CZE1
- Galaxy Watch 5 – R900XXS2DZE1
- Galaxy Watch 5 Pro – R920XXS2DZE1
- Galaxy Watch 4 – R870XXS2JZE1
- Galaxy Watch 4 Classic – R890XXS2JZE1
Samsung should release these updates in other countries gradually over the next few days. To check their availability and get them, open the Wearables app and go to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
