Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy A15 5G (also known as the Galaxy Buddy 3). It brings the stable version of One UI 8.5, which the phone’s owners have been waiting for a long time. With that, the brand has released the new software for all the Galaxy smartphones eligible to get it.
Samsung is rolling out the update in South Korea. It carries firmware version A156LKSUADZE9. You can get it by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. It also bumps the security patch from February 2026 to May 2026, which fixes 36 security issues.
One UI 8.5 brings a redesigned user interface and additional features, including a transparent blur effect and support for Apple AirDrop. You can check out the complete changelog here and watch the noteworthy ones in action in our video below.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A15 with One UI 6 (Android 14) and promised to offer it four major OS upgrades (new Android versions). With the Android 16 and One UI 8.5 update released, the phone will get two major Android OS generation upgrades: Android 17 (One UI 9) and Android 18 (One UI 10).
