Samsung recently finished the rollout of the One UI 8.5 update to all confirmed eligible devices. The Galaxy A16 (4G) received it as well. However, it received the update in South Korea last week, and users in other countries were waiting for the update.
Now, Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 8.5 update to the Galaxy A16 (4G) in select Middle Eastern countries with firmware version A165FXXS9CZCA. It has a download size of over 2GB and includes the May 2026 security patch.
If you have a Galaxy A16 and live in a Middle Eastern country, you can check for the update by heading over to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the update is available, it will start downloading immediately. Once it is downloaded, tap the Install now button to start the installation process. Make sure your phone has at leas 30% of battery charge left so that you can start installing the One UI 8.5 update.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A16 in the second half of 2024 with Android 14 and One UI 6.1 onboard. The phone received the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update in the first half of 2025 and the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update in late 2025. It will get four more major Android version upgrades in the future.
