Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 4 earbuds will have an unusual launch

Recently, Samsung quietly announced the Galaxy Buds Core in India as a new budget solution. Needless to say, the Core buds won't replace the Galaxy Buds 3 series. However, we can now confirm (via Galaxy Club) that Samsung is working on a new pair of premium earbuds. Their tentative launch time frame might surprise you.

While Samsung usually releases new premium earbuds in the summer months or early autumn, the company's development timeline for the upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 tells a different story. According to the data so far, the Galaxy Buds 4 earbuds won't be able to hit the market this year.

Instead, all the evidence so far suggests that Samsung could release the Galaxy Buds 4 at the first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026. That's right! The Buds 4 might join the upcoming Galaxy S26 series on stage and hit the market roughly at the same time as the flagship phone — likely in January or February.

Specs and pricing details are unknown. A Samsung patent application five months ago hinted that the company might want to add UWB connectivity to its wireless earbuds. However, the technology described in the patent was not directly linked to the Galaxy Buds 4, so whether or not the upcoming models will have this feature is unknown.

Likewise, it's not entirely clear whether Samsung will release sequels to the standard Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro or just one pair of Buds 4 earbuds that will succeed both.

As for the next Unpacked event, where the Galaxy S26 series will be unveiled, it might take place in January or February 2026. There are no fixed dates yet. For now, Samsung is busy preparing for this summer's Unpacked, which will kick off next week in New York City.
