While the One UI 7.0 update has been delayed by several months, Samsung is making sure such delay doesn't happen with One UI 8.0. The next major version of One UI has been leaked several times over the past few weeks, and we even tried it out on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Now, it is clear that Samsung is moving ahead with internal beta testing of One UI 8.0.
New One UI 8 internal beta firmware found for Galaxy S25
Today, an internal beta testing firmware was spotted for the Galaxy S25 Ultra on Samsung's servers. The beta firmware has version S938BXXU3ZYEA, which is newer compared to the firmware (S938BXXU2BYDD) we installed on our Galaxy S25 Ultra a few weeks ago for a hands-on experience. This is the first time a beta firmware has been spotted on Samsung's server.
Since the firmware version mentions Z (on the fourth place from right) and has a newer version, it is clear that Samsung is internally testing this beta version of One UI 8.0. Moreover, since the firmware was found on Samsung's server, the company might be moving close to opening the One UI 8.0 Beta Program.
One UI 7.0 introduced a huge UI redesign. So, it is likely that One UI 8.0 won't bring a major redesign. We might see new features, and some of them have been leaked already. It brings a new design to Samsung Internet, improvements to Samsung DeX, more security features, more RAM Plus, better parental controls, new Quick Share UI, and improvements to Now Bar.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the first phones to run One UI 8.0. They will likely be launched in July this year. Before they are launched, Samsung could open the One UI 8.0 Beta Program for previous phones like the Galaxy S25 series.
