Samsung monthly updates: May 2025 security patch fixes dozens of bugs

Samsung has already been rolling out the May 2025 security patch. It typically starts sending out the latest security release days before detailing what vulnerabilities the patch fixes in its software. The update also includes patches from Google for vulnerabilities in Android.

The company today detailed the contents of the May 2025 security patch. It addresses dozens of security bugs in the software, as is the norm in these monthly releases.

Samsung details its latest security maintenance release

The May 2025 security patch fixes dozens of high vulnerabilities exploits found in the Android operating system. There were no vulnerabilities marked critical in this release A couple of Samsung Semiconductor patches are also included in this list. In addition to these, the update also patches 20 vulnerabilities found in Samsung's software.

All of these vulnerabilities were privately disclosed to Samsung by security researchers. The company operates a generous bug bounty program offering up to $1 million for precisely this reason, to ensure that any vulnerabilities are detected privately and fixed before any harm can be done to users.

One of these vulnerabilities enabled attackers to launch activities within SmartManagerCN. Another let attackers access sensitive information in Enriched Call.

Samsung has already released the May 2025 security patch for the Galaxy S25 series. We can expect to see it rolling out for all other eligible devices in the coming days.
