Durability will be top of mind for customers interested in buying one of Samsung's slimmest phones yet, the Galaxy S25 Edge. It's impressively thin at just 5.85mm yet Samsung has worked with Corning to ensure superior durability.
The company announced today that the Galaxy S25 Edge will utilize Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, Corning's latest glass ceramic offering. This doesn't come as a surprise, as we had exclusively confirmed back in February that the Galaxy S25 Edge will use ceramic to toughen up.
Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy S25 Edge launch for May 13
Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 has crystals embedded within the glass matrix to improve durability and crack deflection. High optical transparency is achieved through advanced enginerring between the glass and crystal components.
This, coupled with Samsung's exclusive reinforcement techniques, results in a sleek design without compromising on toughness. This ensures that the Galaxy S25 Edge delivers the premium experience and resilience that customers have come to expect from the Galaxy S series.
Samsung already confirmed yesterday that it's going to formally launch the Galaxy S25 Edge through a digital event on May 13. Pricing and availability details will also be revealed then, but other details won't surprise many, as a lot of information has already leaked online.
Reports suggest that the device will first be released in South Korea before it makes its way to the United States and markets across Europe by the end of this month. It should eventually make it to some Asian markets as well.
