The Now Bar is one of the most unique aspects of Samsung's new One UI 7 update. It offers easy access to information and quick controls on the AOD and lock screen for select apps, but it's very light on customization options. However, rumors say Samsung might address this Now Bar shortcoming through a brand new Good Lock module.
With the Now Bar in One UI 7, what you see is what you get. As of this writing, you can choose the apps and services it should tap into, but that's about the extent of it.
If rumors are true, Samsung is now developing a new Good Lock module called NOWBAR. It will allow One UI 7 users to customize several Now Bar characteristics, such as color, size, and animations.
Furthermore, these rumors suggest that the so-called NOWBAR module will offer an option to force third-party app support for the Now Bar (via @Tonysamsunglove).
Remember, Good Lock will go global
Good Lock is designed precisely to expand the One UI experience through additional customization options, so a new module that could enable more settings for the Now Bar sounds like a perfect fit for the Good Lock suite.
Given the scope of Good Lock, these rumors don't sound far-fetched at all, but of course, we will have to wait and see if something true comes out of them.
