If your Galaxy phone still runs Android 7 Nougat, congratulations are in order, first and foremost. Somehow, you held on to your device for a decade or more despite the lack of updates, hardware capabilities, support, and security updates. Secondly, we have some bad news for you. It is almost time to say goodbye to the Samsung Members app.
Samsung is now sending termination notices to Android 7 users on Galaxy devices, informing them that the Samsung Members app and service will stop working on their devices in about a month.
April 1, 2025, is when Samsung Member for Android 7 Nougat will be terminated. (via perfectmongoose on Reddit).
Funnily enough, Samsung recommends Android 7 users update their devices to a newer OS version, such as Android 8 Oreo, if available.
The better advice would probably be to look for a phone upgrade if you want to keep using the Samsung Members app and you're affected by this notice. After all, you're missing out on a whole new experience powered by One UI.
Realistically, we suspect there aren't many people in this position, but there you have it. Samsung Members will stop working on Nougat-based Galaxy devices starting April 1, and it's not an out-of-season April Fool's joke.
