Samsung has released an update to the Good Lock app for Galaxy smartphones. It carries version 3.0.10.1 and brings six big changes. The most important is a major design overhaul of the app’s user interface.
Before we check out the new design, here’s how the old version of Good Lock looked. While there was nothing wrong with it, Samsung has now made it even better.
Here’s how the new version of the Good Lock app looks. It looks much more organized, cleaner, and modern compared to before, which is a welcome change.
Earlier, you had three tabs at the bottom: Terrace, Make Up, and Life Up. Now too, there are three tabs but two of them are new: Terrace, Plugins, and You.
The new Plugins tab combines apps from Make Up and Life Up
Just like before, Terrace is where Samsung will show you updates about Good Lock and its modules. Plugins combines modules from Make Up and Life Up, enabling you to discover all the apps for Good Lock in one place rather than looking for them in two separate tabs. There’s an “I” button beside each app. It gives you more info about the app and screenshots.
The You tab shows your favorite apps and active settings
The You tab has two sections: Favorites and Settings in effect. In the former, you can add your favorite apps for accessing them quickly rather the scrolling through apps in the Plugins tab. As for the latter, it will show you features, settings, and options across all the modules that are currently active, making it easier for you to manage customizations.
Good Lock 3.0.10.1 offers two widgets and eight wallpapers
Terrace and Plugins tabs also offer you various categories at the top, making it easier for you to browse topics and search for specific types of apps. But the design changes and new features don’t end there. The app now offers a button at the top-right corner of the screen called Gift Box. It offers you two widgets, Mini and Cassette, and eight wallpapers.
Samsung says “Mini is a shortcut that shows all installed Good Lock apps at once. Add it to your home screen now to quickly launch your favourite apps!” Whereas, the description for Cassette reads “Cassette is a widget inspired by nostalgic cassette tapes. You can add up to four of your favourite Good Lock apps for quick launch. When you launch an app, the app icon moves and the cassette changes colour! Add it your home screen today and see it for yourself.” Here’s how the two widgets look on the home screen.
As for the eight wallpapers, each of them highlights a Good Lock module. With all these changes, this is the biggest update to Good Lock in a very long time, and it comes right in time for the release of Android 15-based One UI 7.0, which also offers major design changes. Samsung has released the new Good Lock update only in a few regions. That means you might have to wait a little till the new app becomes available in your region.
