Native Google Drive app coming soon to Snapdragon Galaxy Books

The ARM-powered Windows laptop market is on the rise. Yesterday, Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon X Plus series chipsets aimed at affordable Windows laptops. Within hours, Samsung launched a laptop with the new chipset, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge 15-inch. However, there’s some more good news in the store.

At the IFA 2024 event, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon announced that Google will be launching the native Google Drive application for ARM-powered Windows laptops in Q4 2024, as you can see in the image below.

Google Drive is one of the most widely used cloud storage platforms and many people require its app on their laptops for day-to-day tasks. Unfortunately, its native app wasn’t available for ARM-powered Windows laptops, keeping many people from buying these laptops. Well, Qualcomm, Windows, and Google are now removing that obstacle.

Amon also revealed that NordVPN and ExpressVPN are now available for ARM-powered Windows laptops, which is great news because popular VPN apps weren’t available for the platform.
