Following the initial release, the September 2024 security update for the Galaxy A55 is reaching more users. Galaxy A55 owners in India and some neighboring countries can make their phones more secure thanks to the new update.
The Galaxy A55 September update sports the build number A556EXXS4AXH4. It adds new security fixes to the phone, but nothing else. You can download it over the air from the phone's Settings » Software update menu or from the SamMobile firmware library.
If Samsung plans to bring One UI 6.1.1 to the Galaxy A55, it will be with a future update. For those wondering, Samsung has not officially said if the Galaxy A55 is eligible for the One UI 6.1.1 update.
The Galaxy A55 recently received Circle to Search, but it doesn't support any other features Samsung advertises as part of Galaxy AI, so it may directly get Android 15 and One UI 7.0 with all One UI 6.1.1 features included.
Android 15 will be the first major Android OS upgrade for the Galaxy A55. The first of four major upgrades, that is. Samsung is only offering seven years of updates to its flagship phones as of September 2024. The A55 is eligible for four major Android OS updates and five years of security updates.
