Samsung India has revealed that the Galaxy C55 will be launching in the country as the Galaxy F55. The Galaxy F55 was previously expected to be a rebranded version of the Galaxy M55 for the Indian market, but it will actually be a rebranded version of the Galaxy C55 that Samsung launched in China recently.
The Galaxy C55 is also a Galaxy M55 rebrand, but it doesn't just have a different name: the C55 comes with a unique rear panel made of stitched vegan leather. Soon, this unique variant will be available for purchase in India as well, though as part of the Galaxy F lineup.
The Galaxy F lineup is exclusively sold through Indian retailer Flipkart online, and the same will be true for the Galaxy F55. Samsung hasn't said when it plans to bring the F55 to retail shelves, but the teasers suggest that an official launch is not too far off.
As far as specs go, the Galaxy F55 will pretty much be an exact replica of the M55. It will feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ screen with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 50MP primary rear camera, 50MP front-facing camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W super fast charging.
On the software front, the F55 will run Android 14 with One UI 6.1 out of the box. It will be eligible for four major Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. No Galaxy AI features will be included, for those wondering.
It remains to be seen if the Galaxy F55 will come in both black and orange paint jobs like the Galaxy C55 (Samsung India has only teased the orange version for now).
