Samsung is working on multiple new laptops, and some features of those laptops have been leaked already. The Galaxy Book Pro will be the company’s first Windows 10 laptop with a Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy Book Go could be the first Samsung laptop with a new-generation Snapdragon processor. The Galaxy Book Go has now received the FCC certification, which means that its launch is right around the corner.
The Galaxy Book Go (with model number NP340XLA and NP345XLA) has now cleared Bluetooth SIG’s and FCC’s certification. Going by the certification documents, Samsung’s upcoming ARM-based laptop features dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, LTE, and 34.5W charging. Going by previous leaks, the Galaxy Book Go will feature a 14-inch display with Full HD resolution, Windows 10 Home operating system, a next-generation Snapdragon 7c/Snapdragon 8cx processor, 4GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, and a microSD card slot.
It is being rumored that Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8cx processor will feature a 10% faster CPU and up to 54% faster GPU when compared to Intel’s 10th Gen. Core i5 1035G4 processor. A Snapdragon processor brings integrated LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity as well as much higher power efficiency compared to Intel processors. We can also expect the laptop to feature a backlit keyboard, bottom-firing stereo speakers, a large trackpad, and a couple of USB Type-C ports.
Samsung’s first set of laptops for this year were the Galaxy Chromebook 2, Galaxy Book Flex 2, and the Notebook Plus 2, and they were unveiled late last year. The Galaxy Book Go and the Galaxy Book Pro are expected to be unveiled sometime next month.
