Samsung has only properly released Bixby in South Korea where Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners can take full advantage of all of the features that the company’s new voice assistant offers. Bixby’s voice functionality hasn’t gone live anywhere as yet but it appears that the company is getting ready to roll it out.
One of our readers reached out to us after seeing several Bixby updates being pushed to his device. His device received updates for the Bixby service as well as its Wakeup, PLM and Global Action modules.
You may recall that Samsung launched a beta program for Bixby Voice a few days back. It’s giving Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners in the United States the change to register and be selected in the group of users who will be given early access to all of Bixby’s features. It would be the first time that anyone outside Samsung gets to test how well Bixby Voice handles the English language.
Samsung has not yet confirmed when it plans on rolling out Bixby to all users in the United States but this is a good sign nonetheless. These updates were sent out to a user who hasn’t registered for the beta program. It shows that the company is setting the stage for its voice assistant and if everything goes well, it should arrive in the near future.
