Like all major carriers in the United States, T-Mobile allows customers to return devices within a set timeframe if they don't want to keep them, and like others, it charges a restocking fee.
As the third largest carrier in the United States, T-Mobile obviously has a lot of people buying Samsung phones from it. If you're one of them and you want to return your phone, keep in mind that it's going to cost a bit more than before.
It's a minor increase from the previous rates
T-Mobile charges a restocking fee for all devices, including those from Samsung. The free is charged based on the retail value of the device. There's understandably a lower fee for affordable devices and a higher flat fee for flagship devices, like the Galaxy S26 or the Galaxy Z Fold/Flip series.
The carrier has increased the restocking fee by $5 across the board, compared to what it was charging before. It will now charge $75 for devices with a retail price of $600 or more, $50 for devices that are priced between $300 and $599, and $25 for devices that are priced below $300.
Restocking fees are meant to deter customers from arbitrarily returning devices for things like color, etc. It places a minor penalty because even though returns get them the price they paid for the phone, the carrier still deducts the restocking fee.
