Samsung is expected to launch two new flagship phones with book-style foldable displays next month, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide) and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. According to previous reports, the former will feature a 5.4-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch foldable display. Now, we have information about the sharpness of these screens.
On X, a popular tipster, Ice Universe, claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide’s cover and foldable displays will have a pixel density of 432 PPI and 403 PPI, respectively, the highest among all the Galaxy Z Fold phones to date. In comparison, the pixel density of Galaxy Z Fold 7’s cover and foldable screens is 422 PPI and 368 PPI, respectively.
Higher pixel density means that the content will look sharper and more detailed, especially when looked at from a close distance. If you have been following news about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, you may know that its foldable display will have a 4:3 aspect ratio, a first in the lineup and similar to Apple’s upcoming iPhone with a book-style foldable display.
Both displays are expected to have a 120Hz refresh rate. Other reports about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 reveal that it will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, 50MP wide and 50MP ultra wide cameras at the rear, one 10MP camera on the cover, and the foldable screens, each, and a 4,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging.
